My Approach
When starting work with new clients, my first priority is to collaborate with each partner to define their respective goals of therapy. I have supported couples (and partners in relationships with more than two partners) through a wide range of experiences, including:
◆ Improving communication and navigating conflict more constructively
◆ Deepening emotional connection and mutual understanding
◆ Negotiating co-parenting roles and philosophies
◆ Deciding whether to stay together or separate after a betrayal
◆ Rebuilding trust after a relationship crisis
◆ Opening up honest conversations about sex
◆ Understanding how emotional wounds impact sexual connection
◆ Rekindling desire in long-term relationships
◆ Exploring consensual non-monogamy
◆ Enhancing access to arousal and pleasure
Our Process Together
In our process, I will be supporting you to grow as full and autonomous individuals, to show up authentically for each other and to communicate with courage and empathy.
Each new client is free to choose whether to include in their therapeutic process an exploration of how their emotional dynamic might impact their sexual life, and vice versa. In addressing sexual questions, I draw on scientific research, cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness as well as on somatic psychotherapeutic techniques
Beyond talk therapy
I am a Certified Core Energetics practitioner, and have trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Pelvic-Heart Integration and Sensorimotor psychotherapy. I have found that the latter somatic techniques are extremely helpful to couples especially when working with sexual desire and arousal issues.
